WORKSHOP FAQs
Q: How will I be graded?
A: Your reflection (completed on 3rd Monday of cycle) will be graded.
Q: Will my classmates see my work?
A: Yes and No. Exemplar work will be showcased in the classroom and on our class site; however, you will get to choose who sees your work on your Google Sites portfolio. I want you to take pride in your work, and showcasing/publishing your work is a class goal.
Q: Do I have to complete all the activities on a category page?
A: No, you just need to complete at least TWO choices within the 3 week cycle. However, if you are spending a lot of time to create an AWESOME project, you can opt to just complete one choice. If you choose to only complete one activity, you will only have that one activity to write your reflection on.
Q: Do we have to do a book trailer/book talk in addition to our other two workshop choices?
A: It is up to you. You can choose to do a book trailer/book talk as one of your choices. Or, you can choose to do one in addition to your other choices. If you are spending a great deal of time crafting your trailer/talk video, you may choose it as your only project for the entire 3-week cycle, and you will write a thoughtful reflection on your process and learning. Every student must complete a book trailer or book talk video by Monday, October 31, 2016.
Q: Will I have to do this on the weekend?
A: It depends. If you are able to use your class time wisely and productively, you should be able to get most of the work done in class. If you need additional time, you will need to continue creating your project outside of class time. I want you to take pride in your work, and showcasing/publishing your work is a class goal.
